Jack- it might have been a Detroit "thing" but other friends from around the country had the same experience. If the streetlights were on and Mom was yelling for you from the front porch to come in...oh boy..not good. Too funny!
Guess it was because there were no street lights in the woods of New Hampshire that I didn't know this! LOL...we just went home when it was dark...
